Money Exchange: Banks and money exchanges, “Casa de Cambio” Most efficient way to carry and change money is with a debit or ATM card. ATM machines normally give better rates at no commission. Banks open Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm, closed on Saturday and Sunday All major credit cards are widely accepted.Tipping: Customary in Chilean restaurants at a rate of 10%. Hotel tipping is discretionary, and tipping cab drivers is uncommon.
Petrol Costs: One litre of petrol 40p, moderate meal £3, four-mile taxi ride £3.50, a beer - 50p. All costs will vary.Vaccinations: Chile presents few serious hazards and you do not need any vaccinations to enter the country but it may be advisable to get typhoid and hepatitis. International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required if arriving from an infected area within 5 days.
